The numbre of Si.mobil users in growing
At the end of 2013, Si.mobil had 679,172 customers, at the end of Q3 2014 the number increased to 683.200. Growth was the highest among subscribers (4.5 %), who comprise 78 % of all users. At the end of 2013, Si.mobil had 679,172 customers, a growth of 2.5 % in comparison to the previous year. Si.mobil ended the year with positive earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in the amount of 36.44 million euros, while EBITDA was 60.48 million euros. The average revenue per user (ARPU) reached 19.9 EUR at the end of 2013.
Price Plans for the Whole Family
We design our products and services so that they successfully cater to the whole family. We offer SIMPL KIDZ prepaid price plans for the youngest ones, ORTO price plans for young people up to the age of 31, ZATE plans for our broadest circle of customers, and SENIOR ZATE price plans for seniors. Si.mobil was the first mobile operator in Slovenia to offer a price plan with unlimited calls and at the beginning of 2014 we introduced the EU NESKONČNO (EU INFINITE) option, helping our customers significantly cut the costs of roaming abroad.
Si.mobil's Business TopTalk
Si.mobil's business users and Slovenian entrepreneurs once again had the treat of listening to the experience of a world-class businessman. On 30 September 2014, Si.mobil's guest at its prestigious TopTalk business event was Boris Becker, one of the best and most daring players in the history of tennis, and today a successful businessman. Boris Becker was the fourth famous businessman, after Richard St. John, Pierluigi Collina, and Niki Lauda, to present his own key to success in business. Through its TopTalk business events Si.mobil aims to showcase for the Slovenian public the strategies and principles followed by businessmen who have made it globally, making business easier for them in the process.
At the end of April 2014, the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia published the results of the Public Auction for Assigning Radio Frequencies for the Provision of Public Communication Services. In the auction Si.mobil was awarded almost one half of the available Slovenian frequency spectrum for a bit over 63 million EUR, and the majority of this spectrum was assigned to Si.mobil for a period of 15 years. The acquired share of the radio frequency spectrum is a firm foundation for Si.mobil's ambitious growth plans in the coming years, as well as a good basis for future investments in network development with cutting-edge technology.
One of our strategic commitments is to provide our customers with advanced services, which is why, in the summer of 2012, Si.mobil was the first mobile operator in Slovenia to commercially launch an LTE network, supporting data rates of up to 100 Mbps. By the end of 2017, Si.mobil will have covered 95 % of Slovenia's population with LTE technology, as well as have made a significant contribution towards meeting the goals of the Digital Agenda for Europe by providing broadband internet at least 225 locations in rural areas which are now deemed white spots with no access to a broadband network. Developing the Competencies and Key Potentials Model
We introduced key and leadership competencies, which define know-how, skills, abilities, values, and personal traits of employees, and we encourage their development within Si.mobil's environment. One of our important strategic guidelines is also identifying and developing key potentials within the company, since we want to establish a solid team of employees on whom we can count in the future.
Ethical and transparent operations are an important element of our culture and values. We conduct our business responsibly and with integrity. The Si.voda Fund, a Non-Profit Institute for Preserving Healthy and Clean Waters
The Si.voda Fund, the institute for clean and healthy waters, is an independent institution, founded in the spirit of Si.mobil's Re.think philosophy. As the founder and driving force behind the institute, Si.mobil wants to ensure that clean and healthy water will also be available to future generations. The Si.voda fund invests in projects that actively tackle the issues of water quality and wastewater treatment, and which encourage more efficient water consumption in Slovenia. Tangible results and the projects' effectiveness are important criteria in granting a donation.
Development of Leadership Standards and Key Potentials
We introduced key competencies, which define know-how, skills, abilities, values, and personal traits of employees. After defining key competencies for all employees, we also outlined management competencies. We aligned them with Telekom Austria Group, which resulted in management standards that are an important element of success. Management standards are also the basis of our 360° Feedback, which is an important starting point for the development of every leader.
One of our important strategic guidelines is also identifying and developing key potentials within the company, since we want to establish a solid team of employees for company's current and future needs. We also developed a retention program for employees who are especially important for pursuing the company's strategic guidelines.
Party with a Cause
Each year on the last Saturday in August we gather at Ljubljana's Tivoli Park for the Party with a Cause. Novelty of the event in August 2014 was the announcement of jobs for young people, seeking their first employment. 14 companies, including Si.mobil, collaborated on the project by creating a total of 18 open positions. The funds collected at Party with a Cause 2014 were given to the Nefiks institute for their project of Employment Clubs for young people. We collected almost 15.000 EUR, all together since December 2004 277.000 EUR.
